What is trauma? What is trauma-informed? How can you heal trauma?

My insights and takeaways about the trauma matter.

What is trauma?

Dr Gabor Mate says ‘Trauma is not what happened to you but what happens after as a result of what happened to you.’ Trauma is a disruption of the brain and the nervous systems; in short, this is the simplest way to define it.

Trauma creates disruption and complex and complicated internal narratives, and reactive and/ or over-reactive brain and nervous systems. There are different types of traumas: small, big, inheritable, historical, intergenerational, personal, collective, financial etc.

Trauma is not bound to life-threatening events or demographic places. Trauma is also inheritable. We all, maybe only in traces, but store it at a DNA level. Trauma is not cognitively stored, it is stored in the body—soma—as it also shows up through somatic experiences, such as physical pain, organ dysfunction and nervous systems’ disintegration from the brain systems.

What is trauma-informed?

Trauma-Information requires deeper knowledge and understanding of neuro-psycho-bio-science-based modalities, such as somatic experiencing therapy and interpersonal neurobiology-based approaches.

Trauma-informed coaching offers healing methods for the whole being, the brain, the mind, and the body, thus allowing the individual to check in with themselves in any given relational situation through bodily reaction and/or response. These reactions and responses are also visible to the external environment through non-verbal communication, such as body language and facial expression, for example.

The information energy flow goes from the brain systems through the nervous systems, and a lot of interaction takes place when one’s body remembers the internal mental and physical pain and/or traumatic pain points. At the time when we feel triggered, we are reminded of these pain and/or traumatic pain points.

These points create emotional traps, making it harder for the body to be in synchronization with the brain systems, and vice versa the brain systems go into rigidity or chaos and narrow the window of tolerance. This reaction takes place during anxiety attacks, for example.

How to heal trauma?

The great news is that the healing approaches are Organic, Powerful, Effective, Natural and Simple. Once you learn the tools and techniques, you will be well equipped for your lifetime. Healing is a process.

I said, in one of my LinkedIn posts, that whatever you do today, don’t let the lizard brain take your breath away. The amygdala (brain part) is capable of doing that, as it is also responsible for activating fear responses.

One of the effective ways to calm and help the stimulated amygdala to maintain integration with the nervous systems is through self-regulation techniques, such as breathwork.

During the coaching sessions, you will learn to reorganize the brain systems, therefore you will learn to shift the fixed mindset towards growth and infinite growth mindset. Once you learn and embed the tools, you will feel empowered to implement the techniques without even interrupting your daily routine.

Humans are energetic beings, whether we understand this or not, the claim is scientifically true. The information energy flows through our body and changes directions based on what stimulus and stimuli we are subjected to.

Everyone needs an information energy flow buddy, who with you can create a safe space and clear those emotional traps that you are holding onto all so long.

Wish you well on your healing journey!
